Austrian Mediathek (Austria)
For audio preservation, the codec question is resolved, but for video it is still in discussion which lossless encoding to use.
Due to the growing interest in FFV1 for preservation, this talk will address frequently asked questions like:
- performance comparison (speed/compression)
- accessibility & interoperability
- transcoding & non-linear editing
- current and future application/vendor support
- lossless workflows
In this presentation, we’ll be analyzing what it is like to use FFV1, compared to other lossless codecs. Not only in theory, but based on real-life practical experience.
