The University of the Philippines School of Library and Information Studies (UP SLIS), Diliman, Quezon City, announces the offering of its 20th Summer Institute on Information Science on “RDA Declassified: Learning RDA the New Way” on 22-24 July 2015 at Rooms 3 and 4, UP School of Library and Information Studies, 3rd Floor Gonzalez Hall, UP Diliman, Quezon City.

Since 1975, UP SLIS has spearheaded discussions on trends and innovations in the field of library and information science by way of the summer institute. Today, with the testing and eventual implementation of Resource Description and Access in other countries, our institution will be conducting a workshop for library and information practitioners interested to learn about the new code. By the end of this workshop, participants are expected to be able to grasp the basic foundation of Resource Description and Access; and to be able to apply the concepts and rules prescribed in the said code, in their own cataloging practice. Topics to be covered in the workshop include the background and structure of RDA, description using RDA and other related RDA concepts.

In this light, we would like to invite you to participate in our event. The seminar-workshop fee is PhP 3,600.00 (inclusive of registration, kit, instructional materials, lunch, and snacks).  Interested participants may register online at https://docs.google.com/a/slis.upd.edu.ph/forms/d/1ZaArKYr9SxG3dIuHYh8-PT-4tAAxbxTxBrWYzO5DSBY/viewform  or email the following on or before 15 July 2015 for reservation.
