The UP School of Library and Information Studies cordially invites the public to the 39th Gabriel A. Bernardo Memorial Lecture on Friday, 23 March 2018, 9:00-11:30 AM at the Engineering Theater of the College of Engineering, 3rd Floor, Melchor Hall, UP Diliman, Quezon City.

This year’s GAB is themed “Library Leadership at the Crossroads”. This event will present, in the form of a panel discussion, the perspectives of librarians and scholars regarding the characteristics, competencies, and convictions of library administrators in the Philippines. We invited stakeholders and reactors to discuss the following topics:

1) Traits, values, and skills of a library administrator;

2) Arguments in favor and/or against professionals and non-professional librarians as library administrators; or

3) Issues and concerns related to library leadership and bureaucracy.

This lecture is FREE and open to the public. It qualifies as a continuing professional development initiative under self-directed learning. Certificates of appearance may be issued as requested.
